A 1917 Christmas Tour

By Reynolda House Museum of American Art (other events)

26 Dates Through Dec 19, 2017

ABOUT ABOUT

It is December 1917, and the newly completed Reynolda has received holiday decorations, presents, dozens of turkeys for holiday meals, and train cars full of furniture in anticipation of the family moving in just before Christmas Day. A century later, we invite you to see the house decorated according to Katharine Reynolds’s instructions and to hear festive stories told by a costumed butler, nurse, party-goer, and teacher at the Reynolda School. Lights will be low, the candles will flicker, and carols from the original Aeolian pipe organ will fill the home with wintry cheer of long ago.

Children 5 and under are free. Strollers are not permitted on the tour.
