The two-hour, limited enrollment (6 families), Family First workshops begin at 2 p.m. the first Sunday of each month for children in grades 1 through 6 accompanied by an adult. $10 members/$15 non-members per person; art materials are provided. Registration required as class enrollment is limited; registration available on website. The workshops will take place outdoors in the front of Reynolda. In the event of inclement weather, kits will be available for pick-up on-site. If the Museum is open, we will include time for you to visit on your own; otherwise we will provide a family pass for a later visit. We are following social distancing guidelines including limiting capacity, staying 6ft apart, and requiring anyone over the age of 11 to wear face coverings. Alternatively, kits for this workshop will be available for completing this project at home.
Theme: Classical mythology includes a range of beasts combining different animals - a griffin, for example, blends the body of a lion with the head and wings of an eagle. Learn bookbinding techniques to create your own bestiary of interchangeable animals and monsters. Each page turn offers a unique animal creation.
